Ed Sheeran tops Spotify's list of most popular wedding songs
Streaming platform Spotify has spent some time analysing thousands of playlists titled ‘first dance’ in order to compile the ultimate first dance playlist. Ed Sheeran not only takes the number 1 spot, but is also the only artist to be featured in the playlist three times.
Apart from Ed’s “Thinking Out Loud”, the top three consists of Etta James’ “At Last” and Ray LaMontagne’s “You Are The Best Thing”.
The list further includes some classics as Elvis’ “Cant Help Falling in Love”, Louis Armstrong’s “What a Wonderful World” and Joe Cocker’s “You Are So Beautiful”. However, more recent songs have also proven to be quite popular, with Ellie Goulding making it into the list twice (with her version of Elton John’s “Your Song” and “How Long Will I Love You”) and Christina Perri’s “A Thousand Years” making it to the top five.
