Jack Nicholson: Sad Last Days!

Publish date: 2024-06-29

[QUOTE]Nicholson, 85, hasn't been seen in public since a Lakers game in October 2021. The star remains holed up in his luxurious Mulholland Drive mansion. Friends fear he will die a recluse like his late buddy Marlon Brando.

Jack Nicholson has been quite obviously insane for probably 50+ years now. So was Dennis Hopper.

by Anonymousreply 1January 11, 2023 7:13 PM

[quote] The star remains holed up in his luxurious Mulholland Drive mansion. Friends fear he will die a recluse like his late buddy Marlon Brando.

Aren't most 85-year-olds homebodies and not actively out and about? Does that really make him a recluse?

by Anonymousreply 3January 11, 2023 7:20 PM

He probably has a posse of pussy that regularly do house visits. He's fine.

by Anonymousreply 4January 11, 2023 7:23 PM

I wonder what crazy stories will come out after he dies? A lifelong cokehead and sex addict

by Anonymousreply 5January 11, 2023 7:23 PM

Likely fucked thousands of under-age girls. He's always been a pig.

by Anonymousreply 6January 11, 2023 7:24 PM

I don't know about the rest of you, but this has been a great era in my life.

by Anonymousreply 8January 11, 2023 7:29 PM

Shirley MacLaine has been missing from the public, too. Not even any mentions by her friend Barbra Streisand.

by Anonymousreply 9January 11, 2023 7:47 PM

Shitley drowned in a giant vat of creme brulee!

by Anonymousreply 10January 11, 2023 7:49 PM

She was in the last season of Only Murders in the Building

by Anonymousreply 11January 11, 2023 7:49 PM

His Oscar win for As Good As It Gets is the weakest BA win of the 90s

by Anonymousreply 12January 11, 2023 7:52 PM

“About Schmidt” was much better

by Anonymousreply 13January 11, 2023 7:58 PM

Yes much better there R13

by Anonymousreply 14January 11, 2023 8:01 PM

"As Good as It Gets" was like the extended Very Special Episode of a very bad sit-com.

by Anonymousreply 15January 11, 2023 8:02 PM

Yea Jack and Helen winning for that was a head-scratcher.

by Anonymousreply 16January 11, 2023 8:08 PM

INVENTED DRAMA for copy for DUMB SHIT website.

There is nothing sad about being old and staying in your huge mansion, talking to your FAMILY and close FRIENDS.

For crissakes, this kind of SHIT MEDIA is destroying peoples' minds.

by Anonymousreply 17January 11, 2023 8:15 PM

We’re just concerned, R17.

by Anonymousreply 18January 11, 2023 8:24 PM

Radar Online is run by the National Enquirer. Cher has been dying for the past 30 years according to them.

by Anonymousreply 19January 11, 2023 8:32 PM

What I've gleaned from this thread is that Jack Nicholson is holed up in his mansion with Shirley MacLaine and they're having a Coke fueled sex fest until they die.

by Anonymousreply 20January 11, 2023 8:47 PM

I'm still alive, and decades younger than Jack.

Just in case anyone was wondering, or had a part for me.

by Anonymousreply 23January 11, 2023 9:07 PM

Buck would never beg for work

by Anonymousreply 24January 11, 2023 9:09 PM

R6 What exactly makes him a pig?

by Anonymousreply 25January 11, 2023 9:12 PM

[quote]Coke fueled sex fest

An orgy of regular, diet and zero.

by Anonymousreply 26January 11, 2023 9:16 PM

He has an endless rep for being a pig.

by Anonymousreply 27January 11, 2023 9:16 PM

The worst thing I read of Jack Nicholson was he purchased Brandos property just to have it torn down. Spiteful.

by Anonymousreply 28January 11, 2023 9:17 PM

There are no last days. We'll be back!

by Anonymousreply 29January 11, 2023 9:18 PM

R27 This doesn't answer my question

by Anonymousreply 30January 11, 2023 9:20 PM

At least we are spared from having to see his ugly face in the front row of the Oscars.

by Anonymousreply 31January 11, 2023 9:24 PM

[quote]Is he on his deathbed?

No, he’s in his regular bed.

by Anonymousreply 32January 11, 2023 9:32 PM

R30, I am not R27 but Nicholson is long-rumored to have treated prostitutes badly and bedded underage females. He was with Roman Polanski when Roman buggered the 13-year old girl.

by Anonymousreply 33January 11, 2023 9:37 PM

I wouldn't describe him as a recluse as much as someone who is very likely in extremely bad health. Nicholson never took care of himself. He did drugs he drank he smoked with abandon. Now maybe he quit when he was in his 50's or 60's, but by then the damage was done. If he is having breathing problems, diabetes related problems, mobility problems, etc or even cancer, I vcan understand why we haven't seen him. I had no idea he'd made it to 85.

by Anonymousreply 34January 11, 2023 9:44 PM

Jack Nicholson has a son, Ray, and a grandson, Duke, who are almost the same age.

by Anonymousreply 35January 11, 2023 9:46 PM

Yeah I’m also shocked he made it to 85. Actors who had habits like him back in the day died in their 60s.

by Anonymousreply 36January 11, 2023 9:50 PM

Sad for who? He's an abusive man

by Anonymousreply 37January 11, 2023 9:57 PM

Have another drink, Lara.

by Anonymousreply 38January 11, 2023 10:01 PM

And Courtside for every Lakers home game R31. I truly he was a bad luck charm to the team.

by Anonymousreply 39January 11, 2023 10:03 PM

Damn, r37, we heard you the first time, bitch.

by Anonymousreply 40January 11, 2023 10:06 PM

Growing up, it drove me nuts how many dumb straight white guys idolized this jerk. He was a B actor who got very lucky, and found great parts that fit his smarmy white ass superiority that became celebrated by smarmy white ass Hollywood and the media. Everyone "loved" what a jerk he was. Painful this kind of stupidity is constantly celebrated in our culture. So misogynistic too.

by Anonymousreply 41January 11, 2023 10:08 PM

R39 Is that why they have 18 rings?

by Anonymousreply 42January 11, 2023 10:09 PM

Oh please R42 that wasn't because of Jack

by Anonymousreply 43January 11, 2023 10:10 PM

R43 But losing is? Make it make sense.

by Anonymousreply 44January 11, 2023 10:17 PM

Make what sense R44? Are you familiar with basketball? You realize they have won games outside of Los Angeles right? And Jack hasn't been Courtside for nearly a decade nor was he at every single game.

by Anonymousreply 45January 11, 2023 10:21 PM

R45 So how exactly was he a bad luck charm to the team, genius?

by Anonymousreply 46January 11, 2023 10:26 PM

Sounds like a very normal scenario as one winds down in old age- being cared for in his home. No big deal, not necessarily a recluse either. Some people remain very vital and active in their 90s, some wind down earlier. 85 is pretty up there for a guy who has lived as hard as he has, carrying extra weight.

by Anonymousreply 47January 11, 2023 10:31 PM

Lovely detour, datalounge style. 😂

by Anonymousreply 48January 11, 2023 10:32 PM

The article makes OP linked makes no sense. In one part it says people are worried because he never comes out of his house. Then it goes on to quote people saying he has dementia and that his son and daughter are taking care of him. Assuming he has the money, why is it so terrible that he's spending his "last days" at home getting private care with his kids near by?

by Anonymousreply 49January 11, 2023 10:34 PM

The same way you're being an insufferable nit picking cunt R46 it seems to be an inherent personality trait for you

by Anonymousreply 50January 11, 2023 10:36 PM

[quote]The article makes OP linked makes no sense.

Irony.

by Anonymousreply 51January 11, 2023 10:40 PM

R41, I agree. Smarmy is the word.

by Anonymousreply 52January 11, 2023 10:50 PM

Jack never did any TV after he hit it big.

by Anonymousreply 53January 11, 2023 10:53 PM

I wonder how Jack's old buddy Warren Beaty is doing? They were thick as thieves back in the day and now they are the last of a dying breed of old Hollywood stars( No pun intended)

by Anonymousreply 54January 11, 2023 11:13 PM

Warren was already bestowed with a sad last days thread recently.

by Anonymousreply 55January 11, 2023 11:51 PM

They were both celebrated narcissists.

by Anonymousreply 56January 11, 2023 11:52 PM

I didn't realize Jack was so despised on Datalounge. I guess I'm a philistine by DL standards, but I've enjoyed so much of his work.

Two of his better later films that don't get discussed much are the ones he made with Sean Penn -- The Crossing Guard and The Pledge.

by Anonymousreply 57January 12, 2023 12:07 AM

^He became a caricature of himself in the 1980s. Somewhere between THE SHINING and TERMS OF ENDEARMENT he started phoning it in with his acting. I think in the later stage of his career his persona and his love life took over his talent. He's one of those actors who can't disappear into a role because he's become larger than life and larger than the big screen. Plus I'll never forget how he laughed out loud when the paparazzi informed him of Heath Ledgers death in 2008. There's a sensitivity chip missing there.

by Anonymousreply 58January 12, 2023 12:16 AM

[QUOTE] Plus I'll never forget how he laughed out loud when the paparazzi informed him of Heath Ledgers death in 2008.

Where is this coming from, R58?

by Anonymousreply 59January 12, 2023 1:34 AM

R60 so what if he laughed that some junkie OD'd what was he supposed to do double over and grief and woe.

by Anonymousreply 60January 12, 2023 1:52 AM

No, he said “that’s awful, I warned him”

by Anonymousreply 61January 12, 2023 1:58 AM

I can’t find anything anywhere saying the man busted out laughing when he heard Heath died.

by Anonymousreply 62January 12, 2023 2:08 AM

"The sad last days of" is the latest clickbait. It's everywhere. Every 60+ celebrity is dying sadly.

by Anonymousreply 63January 12, 2023 2:21 AM

R63 "We've lost some greats to suicide, and I think it's time we lose some okays."

by Anonymousreply 64January 12, 2023 2:24 AM

For you R62. I actually think the paparazzi were laughing maybe not Jack, but he was grinning like a Cheshire cat. Mugging for the cameras

by Anonymousreply 65January 12, 2023 2:30 AM

Nikki is D list at best R64 and her poor attempts to imitate Amy Schumer fell flat. She's not even a has-been She's a never was.

by Anonymousreply 66January 12, 2023 2:36 AM

I think the problem for Nicholson is he has a lot of wealth - cash, real estate, and a very high-value, killer art collection - while he has a passel of kids by multiple women waiting in the wings to inherit it all. He's in poor health and apparently can longer keep up with maintaining his current sprawling estate, they want him to move down to Beverly Hill and downsize. The art collection is housed next door to his home and needs to be sold.

Supposedly only his youngest two children have regular contact with him, he's not married and probably has no other family than his kids. He's probably have to be declared incompetent to be moved without his permission, and who has the power or funds to get that done to Jack Nicholson? Sounds like a mess.

by Anonymousreply 67January 12, 2023 2:37 AM

R66 This I do not deny, but she had a point.

by Anonymousreply 68January 12, 2023 2:39 AM

[quote]He's probably have to be declared incompetent

He’s not incompetent.

Once, when he laughed too hard, he had a little accident. Can happen to the best of us.

by Anonymousreply 69January 12, 2023 2:46 AM

He’s almost 86 and for over 50 years has had access to world class pussy, primo drugs and has more money than god and has been a glutton for years. He’s had a good run.

by Anonymousreply 71January 12, 2023 3:46 AM

I like Jack. Great actor--maybe the best of them all. I'll be very sad when he dies.

by Anonymousreply 72January 12, 2023 4:35 AM

For those wanting a more esteemed news source than Radar, I’ll have you know that the highly reputable New York Post is also on the case.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 73January 12, 2023 5:56 PM

Hmmm. Why all of a sudden all the articles, from "unnamed sources" -? Re his poor health and situation, which everyone already knew about. I sense something is up, perhaps some of the kids gearing up a legal action? And perhaps the others not supporting it.

by Anonymousreply 74January 12, 2023 5:59 PM

The Los Angeles Lakers should build a statue of Jack sitting courtside. He's far and away their most famous fan.

Then again, having a human-sized hunk of bronze right on the edge of an active sportball court might just lead to fatal injury, or at least some lost teeth.

Oh god, pictures of a terminally dissipated Jack creep me out. Not because he is old and melting. It is because he is rotten and it’s visible.

by Anonymousreply 76January 12, 2023 9:12 PM

[quote]Oh god, pictures of a terminally dissipated Jack creep me out.

Isn’t that basically any picture of him from the last 30 years?

by Anonymousreply 77January 12, 2023 9:20 PM

What moron wrote that article ""Jack's in touch with certain relatives — especially Ray, his protégé, who he's so proud of — but his socializing days are long gone," the insider squealed."

The insider squealed??

by Anonymousreply 78January 12, 2023 9:23 PM

If I were wealthy, I would do the same. Stay in and never go out.

by Anonymousreply 80January 12, 2023 9:41 PM

Me neither.

All of my rent boys would be delivered.

by Anonymousreply 81January 12, 2023 9:54 PM

It seems MUCH longer than October 2021 since he was in public.

by Anonymousreply 82January 12, 2023 9:58 PM

@ R41

Waahhhhh Im drowning in a sea of envy. Nicholson was a brilliant actor who mad a series of films that are classics. Easy Rider, Five Easy Pieces, The Last Detail, Chinatown, Carnal Knowledge, One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest, The Shining. Id he is a B actor there are no A actors.

by Anonymousreply 83January 12, 2023 10:57 PM

[quote] His Oscar win for As Good As It Gets is the weakest BA win of the 90s

You might want to reconsider that.

by Anonymousreply 84January 12, 2023 11:04 PM

[quote]Aren't most 85-year-olds homebodies and not actively out and about?

OH, NO! According to the Datalounge, 82 year old Dionne Warwick still sounds great and 80 year old Barbra Streisand may direct another film!

by Anonymousreply 85January 12, 2023 11:20 PM

The fact that Jack Nicholson is still alive at 85 years old after decades of drugs, booze, and cigs is a fucking miracle.

by Anonymousreply 86January 12, 2023 11:28 PM

R84 I did consider that but concluded it's relative. While the two you mentioned shouldn't really have won either I can see some effort went into acting. Jack in AGAIG is just being himself, not that it isn't a good performance, but he could have done it in his sleep. Same with Dench's win for SIL.

by Anonymousreply 87January 12, 2023 11:28 PM

There was this old english guy who used to be on Youtube- he claimed to be an expert in palmistry and had *thousands* of videos on various celebrities. He said Nicholson had the "saddest" hands he'd ever seen. He said in this life he was dealing with deep, karmic wounds and profound loneliness. It was a surprising take. It made me think of his early years + how he was raised, with his mother passing as his sister. That happened to Ted Bundy too. It doesn't seem that devastating to me but maybe it's a betrayal of trust you never fully recover from? Which is why he was basically a shit actor, imo. Walled off and egoic. Not much vulnerability or introspection. Always trying to impress with how cool he was, how little he cared and how many women he scored.

by Anonymousreply 88January 13, 2023 12:06 AM

Who gives a fuck what some loon says on YouTube?

by Anonymousreply 89January 13, 2023 1:08 AM

Since when is palmistry considered the work of lunatics?

by Anonymousreply 90January 13, 2023 1:20 AM

Palmistry makes astrology look like neuroscience.

by Anonymousreply 91January 13, 2023 5:32 AM

[quote]Aren't most 85-year-olds homebodies

With their bodies they oughta stay home.

by Anonymousreply 92January 13, 2023 9:30 PM

Didn't he go off at an intersection in LA once, and trash somebody's car with a golf club?

by Anonymousreply 93January 13, 2023 10:52 PM

Jack Nicholson has had a long rumored history of supposedly abusing women as long as I've been alive and I'm a middle-aged man. When the "Me Too" Millennials started attempting to right old wrongs & drag old skeletons out the closet, I have no idea how people like Jack & Mick Jagger, etc never got mentioned.

Jack is a fine actor. The hate for him must be coming from the deuxmoi refugees who read insane blinds about him raping caravans of 12 year olds from CDAN. Who cares about him as a person?

by Anonymousreply 96January 14, 2023 12:12 AM

From The Last Detail. It saddens me that most of Jacks great films arent readably available.

R19 we all started dying when we popped out of our mothers' wombs. Life is the leading cause of death.

by Anonymousreply 100January 14, 2023 12:55 AM

He is a smarmy prick in every role. He never moves or impresses me. He had a sort of awg asshole charisma. Like Bill Murray in a way.

But some here defend his acting. A matter of taste I guess.

by Anonymousreply 101January 14, 2023 1:24 AM

Completely agree R101. He was especially overrated in the latter part of his career where he played himself in every role.

by Anonymousreply 102January 14, 2023 2:00 AM

r94 I don't believe that Jagger ever abused or assaulted anyone, male or female. He certainly womanized plenty, but was never violent or even angry with his paramours.

by Anonymousreply 103January 14, 2023 2:04 AM

Probably because most women could beat the shit out of that noodle armed freak.

by Anonymousreply 104January 14, 2023 2:05 AM

True r104. He is a bit of a wimp. I've always been amazed that he pulled as many women as he did over the years, fame and money aside.

by Anonymousreply 105January 14, 2023 2:07 AM

R103, didn't Mackenzie Phillips write in her book years ago that Mick took her virginity as a young teen back in the 70s? But no one paid any attention because she dropped the incest bombshell at the same time.

by Anonymousreply 106January 14, 2023 2:11 AM

Jacks big scenes all involve shrieking at women. Interesting.

by Anonymousreply 107January 14, 2023 1:44 PM

[QUOTE] Probably because most women could beat the shit out of that noodle armed freak.

Don’t let noodle arms fool you. Skinny guys can be incredibly strong.

by Anonymousreply 108January 14, 2023 3:19 PM

Didn't Jack go to court for assaulting a hooker? I could swear someone linked to an article about that on DL somewhere

by Anonymousreply 109January 14, 2023 3:26 PM

It’s called Karma. He’s a gross pig.

by Anonymousreply 111January 14, 2023 5:48 PM

How’s he supposed to die? Is he supposed to drag his deathbed out to the sunset strip and pose with tourists?

by Anonymousreply 112January 14, 2023 5:54 PM

I’ve never heard of Mic Jagger assaulting a woman, or even of him verbally abusing a woman. Only that he is a womanizer and philanderer and if he is guilty of anything it’s probably indifference and a tendency to grow bored with his conquests. On the pig scale he falls well below Nicholson and even Beatty.

by Anonymousreply 113January 14, 2023 6:11 PM

I have read Jagger is cheap and tight fisted to the point of insanity but that is it. He does have ten babymamas, a hobby which becomes expensive after awhile.

by Anonymousreply 114January 14, 2023 6:14 PM

Mick isn't physically harmful but certainly isn't a feminist woman-lover either. This is a guy who lied to his long-term partner of two decades, and mother of four of his children, that their marriage was valid. Only to say it wasn't when the split, for the sake of saving money and alimony.

by Anonymousreply 115January 14, 2023 6:14 PM

And? Why does anyone give a shit how Mick Jagger treats women in his private life? Why does it matter? He’s not Mother Theresa! He’s never pretended to be! What is this new thing about wanting to “expose” or judge someone for having flaws???

by Anonymousreply 116January 14, 2023 7:16 PM

[quote]How’s he supposed to die? Is he supposed to drag his deathbed out to the sunset strip and pose with tourists?

No, silly! He's supposed to keel over courtside, at a Lakers game -- preferably, a nationally televised game. Then, they'll prop him up in his seat (wearing his trademark shades) a la Weekend at Bernie's, so fans & players can take a photo with him.

by Anonymousreply 117January 14, 2023 7:31 PM

R116 I don't think it's anything new. It's at least been a thing since the existence of SPY, Movieline Magazine and The Hollywood Kids (remember them?), possibly longer.

by Anonymousreply 118January 14, 2023 7:34 PM

R111 Dying is called karma?

by Anonymousreply 119January 14, 2023 7:35 PM

by Anonymousreply 120January 14, 2023 7:46 PM

Jack may be out of it on some days, but his staff still hires escorts to come in and pee on him...

by Anonymousreply 121January 14, 2023 7:59 PM

Calm down r116. We were discussing Nicholson in this thread, and how he abused women throughout his adult life. Someone brought up Jagger as his contemporary, and we actually defended him as being non-physically abusive, while pointing out he's not exactly been generous to his female partners.

It's the typical ebb and flow of a message board thread. Roll with it (and read the posts upthread before jumping in so fast).

by Anonymousreply 122January 14, 2023 8:04 PM

Oh, really, R12?

Tom Hanks, Kevin "Miss Manners" Spacey, Nick Cage, Al Pacino, Roberto Fucking Benigni....

by Anonymousreply 123January 14, 2023 8:32 PM

by Anonymousreply 127January 15, 2023 5:04 AM

(R119) Dying alone. Treated women like trash. Cheated on women that actually tried to stay with him. Expected actresses to slept with him because he was Jack Nicholson. Sometimes you get what’s coming to you even if you’re white and rich. Have a strange feeling that Jon Hamm is going to turn out just like him if he doesn’t die from alcohol poisoning.

by Anonymousreply 129January 15, 2023 7:20 PM

Hey look!! Its the morality police at R129. No one said that he is dying alone. And if cheating on people who actually wanted to sleep with us was a crime just about everyone here at the DL would be doing life without the possibility of parole.

by Anonymousreply 130January 15, 2023 7:56 PM

R125 this is a fucking gossip board you randic twit.

by Anonymousreply 138April 15, 2023 1:42 AM

He looks like how I did after I forced myself to go outside and sit in the sun for 15 minutes after I'd been drinking heavily almost every day for 3 years straight...blinking at the blinding daylight and trying to sober up.

Yes, yes...I know he's old and potentially ill and/or has dementia. It was a joke.

by Anonymousreply 139April 15, 2023 1:48 AM

R6 he's never beating the allegations and he knows that. Probably just wants to avoid getting dragged through the mud and MeToo'd in his dotage. Old Skeksis will probably die and get clean away with it, though, sadly.

by Anonymousreply 140April 15, 2023 1:50 AM

OK, who's gonna start the Lara Flynn Boyle re-hash? Jack's demonic role in her downward trajectory into degradation is a classic here on DL. Remember the CDAN blind and all the rest of it? Some would say ole' Jack is paying for it now . . .

R137: Other than his weight, he looks pretty damn good for 85.

He is neat. And a legend. Fuck you haters.

Why did Jack and Dennis Hopper hate Peter Fonda? About Jack. I remember when he was accused of beating up two hookers and refusing to let them leave his house. That was National Enquirer headlines for weeks.

I’m sure it was true, kween^.

It’s amazing he’s made it to 85- many people as they reach the hard end of life keep close to home- perhaps the most normal thing he’s done. In any case, he’s a great actor and has left an incredible body of work on film.

Something I noticed, which I think should be somewhat encouraging to his fans...look at how CLEAN his sweatpants & t-shirt are. Other than the stretched-out shirt collar (likely from sleeping) they appear freshly laundered, and relatively new? They are not faded/haven't been washed hundreds of times.

That might seem like a minor thing to some, but when my father (dementia) was Jack's age...it was a MIGHTY struggle to keep him in clean (or rather, unstained), decent-looking clothes. Especially when just hanging around the house. He had plenty, but he had his favorite old shirts, sweatpants, threadbare khakis, and pajamas -- and he didn't give a shit if they were stained, or falling apart. (And god help you if you tried to throw any of them away, behind his back).

[quote] "Likely fucked thousands of under-age girls. He's always been a pig."

Part of me still holds out in the hopes that he wasn't as bad as his buddy Roman Polanski.

If he wants to die as a recluse, let him. Personally, my greatest fear in life is that I’ll die surrounded by friends and family.

by Anonymousreply 151April 15, 2023 9:42 PM

He's got the titties of a 13 year old girl. He probably likes them

by Anonymousreply 152April 15, 2023 9:56 PM

Wasn't he the one who was supposed to be dead months ago, according to a blind item from CDAN ? They said a legendary Hollywood actor who was on his death bed at the end of December, and he was about to die in the new year. Friends and family were visiting him to 'pay their last respects' over Christmas.

Everyone guessed it was him, Redford, Willis, or Eastwood. So far, they're all alive.

He does look disheveled in those pics, but he also looks like he could be cleaned up. He’s standing on his own and he doesn’t look at all weak or thin. He just looks like he rolled out of bed, which he’s entitled to do.

I think he's a brilliant actor. I also think he is probably a POS. But I don't need to know about his personal life. I just know if he is in a movie I will probably watch it.
