Jake Paul vs Andre August Fight Card: Every preliminary fight tonight
Jake Paul will return to the boxing ring one last time before the close of the year to face Andre August as the YouTuber prepares for his second professional fight.
Paul faces experienced boxer August on Friday, December 15 at the Caribe Royale in Florida. It's a fight where Paul expects to lose some money due to travelling costs, but the American is confident that it is entirely worth the gamble.
"This is probably just a break-even fight for me," Paul told TMZ Sports. "I probably won't even make any money on it.
"Who knows what the outcome will be. It's $200,000 for a private jet to fly just to fly me back and forth.
"He [August] is a beast, he's a dog, and he's coming to win. This is his defining moment as a fighter. It's going to be a really good fight."
What is Jake Paul's boxing record?
It should be mentioned that since entering professional boxing, Paul has got seven fights under his proverbial belt, of which he has been victorious in six with only one loss.
The 26-year-old's sole defeat came earlier this year against Tommy Fury, the only professional fighter he has faced so far. The rest of his opponents in the ring have been YouTubers, former NBA players and retired MMA stars.
His most recent triumph was against former UFC fighter Nate Diaz, whom he defeated by unanimous decision. August will offer a different test altogether, though, with a 10-1 record and a five-fight winning streak to his name.
The Houston native, 35, may not be a household name, but he is certainly the most experienced opponent Paul has faced in his career, and he has fired a warning to the social media star.
"Jake Paul has the money, the fame, the equipment and the resources, but he doesn't have my hunger," he said.
"When that bell rings, I will go straight to Jake Paul, ring his bell and send him back to YouTube for good."
